WMU's main purpose is to educate and involve adults, youth, children, and preschoolers in the cause of Christian missions. Although originally geared towards women, girls, and preschoolers, both genders are active participants in WMU Organizations and ministries today.
Watchword:
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and
mind. this is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it: Love your neighbor."
Matthew 22:37-39 (NIV adapted).
Focuses for the Year:
WMU will challenge individuals to live out the unconditional love of Christ by loving God with heart,
soul, and mind. WMU will challenge individuals to engage others in authentic relationships that will
lead to a deeper level of involvement in missions, ministry, witness, giving, and prayer.
WMU will challenge individuals to build bridges for the
cause of Christ through a study of Scripture that will
lead to a deeper level of commitment to missions
involvement.
Operation Christmas Child Shoebox collection is held every year in November. Check the association calendar for collection dates.
We want boys and girls around the world to know that God loves them. Children need great joy now more than ever. Most of all, they need the hope found only in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Will you partner with us to share that glorious hope with boys and girls around the world—many of whom have never heard the Name of Jesus? Visit samaritanspurse.org for more information.
Every year churches in our association collect cakes for the Alabama Baptist Children's Home. "Coffee Cakes" collection is the first Monday in December. The cakes collected are distributed to the Alabama Baptist Children's Home's foster families.

This annual observance is the means for promoting understanding and sympathy, and for drawing together Baptist women around the world. It’s a beautiful picture of how we, as Baptist women on the global scale, link arms and stand together in solidarity. We need each other!
The Day of Prayer is also the lifeline to the success and well-being of this movement about Baptist women. Offerings taken on this day provide a large portion of the funds needed to carry on the work of connecting Baptist women on the continental scale as well as the global scale.
World Day of Prayer meeting is held in November of each year. Check the association calendar for event dates. Call our office at 334-894-6411 for more information.

The purpose of the Widows' Ministry is multifold. First, it is a great opportunity for widows to get out and be with other women with whom they have much in common. Secondly, it gives leaders an opportunity to give encouragement to each lady and help them to connect with needed resources.
Meetings are held on the first Monday of the following months: February, April, June, August, October and December.
For more information please contact the CCBA Office at 334-894-6411 or Melonee Blair at 334-447-2500.
